Amanda Sheldon is the Executive Director, Head of Corporate Communications, at Arcutis Biotherapeutics, a leading medical dermatology company bringing meaningful innovation to individuals with serious skin diseases. Amanda is responsible for building the overall brand value and reputation for the company across all stakeholders, while creating and sustaining a diverse, innovative culture.
Amanda brings over 25 years of healthcare communications experience, including an extensive track record building brand loyalty and advocacy for Fortune 100 and start-up pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Previously, Amanda was vice president of marketing and communications for the Family Heart Foundation, responsible for leading scientific communications and building and growing patient advocates. In addition, Amanda has held multiple positions at Medtronic, including head of global communications and head of digital marketing for the diabetes business unit. Prior to Medtronic, Amanda led the west coast medical device practice as a a senior vice president at Porter Novelli, a global public relations firm, where she had the opportunity to lead multiple product launches and set the strategy for integrated marketing communications campaigns.
Amanda holds a B.A. in English from the University of California, Los Angeles. Some of Amanda’s career achievements include bein named a Top 40 Healthcare Transformer by Medical Marketing and Media, and winner of multiple industry awards including from PRSA and PM360. She is a frequent speaker on communications, social media, and digital communications. Amanda lives in Pasadena, CA with her husband and two children and enjoys volunteering for local non-profits, cooking, meditating, and quilting in her spare time.
