About me
Carolyn Scofield is the assistant director of marketing and communications at Tulane University School of Medicine. With over 20 years of experience in media and communications, she specializes in strategic planning and team leadership.
Carolyn began her career as a television news reporter, a role she held for 14 years. She then joined Tulane University, first in the Office of Media Relations and later at the School of Medicine in 2021.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in telecommunications-news from the University of Florida and a Master of Professional Studies in emergency management from Tulane University, providing her with a strong foundation in media and crisis management.
In her current role, Carolyn develops marketing strategies, manages social media platforms, and oversees internal communications. Her expertise in media relations and strategic communication planning significantly enhances Tulane's outreach and engagement efforts.
Outside of work, Carolyn is dedicated to giving back to the community. She volunteers in disaster recovery efforts, offering crucial support to those in need, and teaches swimming skills, helping individuals gain confidence and safety in the water.
