Debbie Etchison is a purpose-driven strategic communications professional with more than 20 years of in-house and PR agency experience in the pharmaceutical industry leading corporate communications, patient advocacy and engagement, first-in-class pharma product launches, disease awareness and media relations. Based in Boston, Debbie currently serves as Executive Director, Head of Corporate Affairs at Alkeus Pharmaceuticals, where she oversees all external communications, government affairs, digital marketing and investor relations for the clinical-stage biotech. Before joining Alkeus, she was Executive Director of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations at SCYNEXIS, where she handled communications for the launch of the company’s first product in women’s health. Previously, she also served as Senior Director of Public Affairs and Corporate Communications for Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America, where she handled North American corporate positioning and the U.S. and Canadian launches of the company’s treatment for ALS. Debbie’s expertise also includes corporate reputation positioning, crisis management and patient community relationship building to support pipeline data and product launch communications for pharmaceutical companies. Debbie’s therapeutic area experience includes rare disease, neurology (ALS, Parkinson’s disease and epilepsy), genetic disorders, ophthalmology, cardiovascular disease, women’s health and infectious disease.
