About me
Donnie Wooten, Jr., PharmD is currently serving as Head & Team Lead of the Strategic Medical & Channel, Analytics Metrics & Innovation, Field Medical COE group. In this role, he is responsible for driving Strategic Medical Content & Omni-Channel (SMCC)/ Field Medical Center of Excellence (FMCOE)/ Analytics Metrics and Innovation (AMI) for Global Medical Affairs Capabilities (GMAC) in Medical Affairs and Outcomes Research (MA&OR).
Donnie is a seasoned professional with diverse work experience within the pharmaceutical industry, including time with the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Johnson & Johnson (J&J), and Merck. Prior to his current position, he served as the Scientific Director of US Medical Affairs, where he streamlined and simplified the way field teams aligned resources against the strategic imperatives, listening priorities, resources, and training via a dynamic tool known as OneLink.
Throughout his career, Donnie has consistently delivered exceptional results in various roles, such as Field Alignment Strategy & Training Lead, Women’s Cancer Regional Medical Scientific Director, and core launch team member for four products within the J&J Oncology portfolio, to name a few.
Donnie is a Doctor of Pharmacy degree holder from Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Tallahassee FL. He also completed his Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Rutgers University College of Pharmacy and conducted his MBA at Saint Josephs, Erivan K. Haub School of Business. In addition to receiving his executive education certificate in Omnichannel Marketing from Kellog School of Business.
In addition to his work, Donnie serves as an advisor for the Customer Experience Program at Seton Hall University, Stillman School of Business. He is also a member of the Medical Affairs Professional Society (MAPs) Focus Area Working Groups (FAWG) – Field Medical, Omni-Channel & Metrics teams. Donnie balances his work by serving his community on the leadership circle of Bread for the City and engaging in personal hobbies like journaling, playing tennis, working out, and being a gushing Uncle of his three nieces and a pup parent to his one-year-old Doberman - Carter.
