About me
Emma McBurney serves as the Vice President and Head of Business Development and M&A at Biogen, where Emma leads a team responsible for negotiating and executing significant transactions across various therapeutic areas, and across all development stages from research to commercial. Emma joined Biogen in 2019 and during her tenure, Emma and her team have successfully led the execution of over 60 transactions with upfront investments over $12 billion. Prior to joining Biogen, Emma spent 5 years at Sanofi in roles of increasing responsibility, including leading BD&L for the global rare diseases therapeutic area. Prior to Sanofi, Emma spent 7 years in Corporate Finance and M&A at Boston Scientific. Emma has an MBA from Yale and a B.S. in Business Management from Babson College.
