Jeannie Karl Ph.D., J.D., is a Senior Director in the Partnering Transactions Group in Corporate Business Development at Genentech, Inc., a member of the Roche Group. She is responsible for structuring and negotiating deal structure and terms in collaboration or licensing deals with biotech/pharma companies for strategic assets or technologies, to clearly reflect the underlying partnership objectives. She is also involved in training business development project leads in term sheet and contract negotiations. She obtained her Ph.D. in Cell Biology from Duke University and her J.D. from Columbia University and worked as a patent litigator, then as licensing counsel for 18 years before transitioning to her current role in Pharma Partnering.
