Over a biopharma career spanning more than 20 years and multiple continents, Tyler has developed a strong track record of establishing and leading high performing teams in investor relations, corporate communications and stakeholder engagement, including patient advocacy and industry/government affairs. He is currently Vice President of Investor Relations, Corporate Communications & Advocacy at ACELYRIN, where he created the company’s first corporate affairs function supporting multiple transformative transactions and announcements including the company’s record-breaking initial public offering in May 2023.
Tyler previously spent nearly a decade with global pharmaceutical company Astellas in roles of increasing responsibility culminating in his appointment as Senior Director of Global Strategy and Integration for Patient Centricity. Based at the company’s worldwide headquarters in Tokyo for five years, he also served as the Head of Global Employee Relations, leading a team responsible for engaging 15,000 employees worldwide in a values-driven culture, and Director of Investor Relations and Communications. Earlier in his Astellas career, Tyler was based in Chicago as the Head of Product and Portfolio Communications and served as the company’s first Director of Oncology Communications and Stakeholder Engagement.
Prior to joining Astellas, Tyler held multiple U.S. and global marketing and communications leadership roles at Pfizer. Previously, he was a consultant in the Chicago, New York and London offices of Edelman, Ketchum and Cramer Krasselt.
He is currently a member of the Investment Committee for 116 Ventures. He was previously a member of the advisory board of healthcare start-up Osara Health, of Page Up (a subsidiary of the Arthur W. Page Society), of the Finance and Human Resources Committees of the Tokyo-American Club, and of the National Alumni Board for Drake University where he was also an advisor to its School of Journalism. An award-winning healthcare leader, in 2016 Tyler was honored by PRWeek as one of the industry’s most influential communicators under the age of 40.
Tyler holds an MBA in Finance and Brand Management from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, an MSc in Strategic Communications from Columbia University and a BA in Journalism from Drake University.
